According to the statement of the Media Office of the Prime Minister, the Council of Ministers approved in its session of 13 October 2026 a draft law amending the Criminal Procedure Code No. 23 of 1971, as reviewed by the Council of State, and referred it to the Council of Representatives. At this stage the draft is a legislative proposal and not an enacted amendment, and we have not seen its text as of the date of this post.
Our observation. From our side we limit ourselves to note that this law is the general framework of the criminal investigation and trial procedures, and that any amendment to it deserves to be followed by the companies too, considering the criminal cases of commercial nature which they face. We will comment on the content of the draft after seeing its text.

بحسب بيان المكتب الإعلامي لرئيس مجلس الوزراء، وافق مجلس الوزراء في جلسته بتاريخ 13 تشرين الأول 2026 على مشروع قانون تعديل قانون أصول المحاكمات الجزائية رقم 23 لسنة 1971، المدقق من مجلس الدولة، وأحاله إلى مجلس النواب. المشروع في هذه المرحلة مقترح تشريعي ولم يُقر بعد، ولم نطلع على نصه حتى تاريخ هذا المنشور.
تعليقنا. من جانبنا نكتفي بالإشارة إلى أن هذا القانون هو الإطار العام لإجراءات التحقيق والمحاكمة الجزائية، وأن أي تعديل عليه يستحق المتابعة من الشركات أيضاً بالنظر إلى ما تواجهه من قضايا جزائية ذات طابع تجاري. سنعلّق على مضمون المشروع بعد الاطلاع على نصه.
