Our attorneys are admitted before all Iraqi courts at every level, from the courts of first instance to the Court of Cassation, and we appear in commercial, civil, labour and administrative matters, including administrative appeals before the State Shura Council. We advise on the choice of forum before a dispute starts, on the enforceability in Iraq of foreign judgments and of arbitral awards following Iraq's accession to the New York Convention, and on the execution and collection steps once a judgment or award is in hand.

In arbitration we act as counsel in proceedings seated in Iraq and as Iraqi law counsel to international firms in arbitrations seated in London, Paris, Dubai or elsewhere, preparing opinions on questions of Iraqi tax, customs, company and contract law and supporting the foreign counsel on the Iraqi aspects of the case. We also conduct the Iraqi court proceedings that often run in parallel, such as interim and conservatory measures, enforcement, or the defence of a local claim brought to put pressure on a foreign party.
